yes!
So, I hope you all had a lovely holiday! I apologize for not posting more last week, but exciting things are happening! Last Sunday, Ryan and I went into New York, for what I thought would just be a show at Radio City but it turned out to be so much more…
December 20 started out as I had expected. We had tickets to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular as we do every year. We drove in to the city, though the roads were slushy from the blizzard the prior night. After the show made me cry like it has every other year, we took a walk down 5th Ave to take a look at Bergdorf Goodman’s windows (which are amazing!).
When we walked past Central Park on our way to Bottega Del Vino for dinner, I saw the horse and buggies lined up and asked Ryan if we had time for a quick ride. On a side note, going on a touristy ride through Central Park during the holidays has been on my bucket list since I was nine. I’m excited to be able to cross that off my list now!
The ride through Central Park was so incredibly beautiful. Sometimes it’s fun to be a tourist in an area where you’re comfortable. We saw so many beautiful spots in the park, I wanted to go back after dinner to take some photos. The snow was almost a buffer to the noise and lights around us. It was so quiet, and peaceful… an experience I’ve never experienced in New York.
As I was taking this last shot, Ryan was behind me and said, “You might want to take off your earmuffs so you can hear this…” When I turned around, Ryan was on one knee on this bridge in Central Park. Of course I said yes, and I can tell you that December 20 will be a night I will never forget.
But wait, there’s more…

A few years ago, she wrote this story and I needed to share it, especially after feeling so lovey-dovey with my new relationship status! […]
