There are few things left on my wedding to-do list that involve decision making. Other than buying my veil, undies, and a cake cutter, the only thing left to decide on is the ring “pillow”. You know me – I’m always trying to be a little bit different, but I’m too nervous to make a full on statement.
We bought our wedding bands a few weeks ago and they’ve been sitting in my nightstand. Probably not the safest place, but I’m too lazy to lug out the heavy safe from the depths of Ryan’s closet. I keep trying on my ring and wearing it around my apartment because I love it so much. Crazy? Nah.
Rather than having a “pillow” for my adorable nephew to carry down the aisle, I think I want to do something different. I’ve noticed a lot of modern weddings on blogs have the wedding dish with their date or vows engraved. I like the idea of this because I can use it in the future to keep my jewelry in it on my nightstand or vanity.
I also love this DIY version with moss in a simple, modern box. This would be so simple to make, but Ryan prefers something more traditional. Who knew men had opinions on ring pillows?!
Which do you like better?
Is it bad that the guift guides everywhere are giving me more inspiration for my own wish list? I think they’re intended for the gifts we’re giving to others, but what’s the fun in that?! I am absolutely loving this asymmetrical necklace from Neawear!
Hint, hint, future husband.
I finally found a pair of wedding shoes that I love! They are Nina “Kyleen” and are unfortunately no longer available.
Originally, I purchased these Badgley Mischka shoes, but had to return them because the heel was way too high and the flower was a bit big. Don’t get me wrong, I love a pair of heels, but they were way too high to be walking around all day. Soooo… I’ve been spending too much time looking for another simple but fun pair of shoes. I found these Nina “Kyleen” shoes by googling “purple peep toe shoes” and looking through every page of the search restults. Crazy, I know.
When I came accross the image, it didn’t have a style name so I had to call Nina’s customer service to get any and all information. After they gave me the style name, I was told that they no longer have this shoe available (of course). Once someone tells me that something isn’t available anymore, it makes me want it even more. (Same thing happened when I first met Ryan! ;) ) Somehow in a shoe miracle, eBay had only one pair left in my size new in the box for only $60 (half their original price). I love that their simple but the little knot detail will peek out from my dress when I walk!
These rsvp “Hart” shoes were cute, but I felt they looked a bit clunky.
I considered buying this gray shoe from BP at Nordstrom, but felt that the purple was a bit more fun. If these shoes were in purple, I would have been all over them!
I love those words. There’s something about online shopping that is so exciting! I typically love instant gratification, but when that package comes in the mail, it’s like a present to myself that I forgot that I bought only days prior. I bought these shoes for our wedding and I’m so excited to get them. (I’m having them delivered to my office, so it’ll be even more of a mid-day treat!) My only hesitation is the size of the flower, but I think it’ll be perfect. My girls dresses are a purple/plum color so I thought these peeptoes would be fun peeking out from under my dress when I walk. I’ll let you know in 3-5 business days!
What do you think? Do you like white or colorful shoes better for brides?
