new school abacus
I’d love to see these in a little boys room as interactive artwork! …and for only $149 it’s a steal!
When I first saw this ribbon coat rack, I couldn’t decide if I loved it or not. I like to have everything away and out of site, but I found myself going back to this image over and over again. I actually prefer this coat rack on its own because of its artful, sculpture like design. I’ve decided. I love it, especially in yellow!
This weekend Ryan and I took a trip to The Newark Museum in New Jersey (gasp!) and fell in love with the Ballantine House all over again. Last year, they had an exhibit in the house by Jennifer Angus called “Insecta Fantasia” creating a wall “treatment” made of her bug collection. When you first enter the space, it looks like the most amazing wall paper, with interesting color schemes and textures… and then you go closer and you can literally see everyone jump back. I guess bugs are the last thing people want in their house!
If you have some time, check out the video and the process by the artist. It’s fascinating!
How gorgeous is this?! Designers Marina and Susanna Sent designed this necklace “giving a contemporary edge to the timeless art form.” The clusters of glass bubbles are so delicate, I can only imagine how beautiful they look when light reflects off this stunning necklace!
