hidden in williamsburg

I haven’t been to Brooklyn in a while, and I need to change that. I love the vintage shops in Williamsburg, and came across this building last time I was there walking around. I don’t know what it is, but it’s very hidden and mysterious with a concealed door behind wood panels!

inspiring new york space

Michala Monroe of M | Monroe Design created an interesting space in New York’s TriBeCa by mixing antiques with new furnishings. Using the client’s original art collection, along with pieces commissioned by the designer herself, she pulled together a neutral space with an enormous amount of character.

How perfect is this little nook to read a great book?!

I love the white walls with a dark accent color to accentuate the spaces. Check out that green vase against that wall!

new york photographer

Years ago I met the urban photographer, Guarionex, who had a table selling his photos in SOHO. I usually don’t stop at those tables (unless they have something really shiny!) but his photos were architectural, emotional and beautifully cropped. I only spoke with him for maybe 5 minutes years ago, but I’ll never forget his interesting name or beautiful photos.

upstate retreat.

Adam Rolston, of Incorporated, leaves me speechless. The upstate NY retreat, featured in June’s Metropolitan Home, is a dramatic modern masterpiece. Every room is drenched in sunlight through the double story windows allowing the space to feel as lofty as a SOHO penthouse. Adam’s designs are thoughtful and pure, allowing the placement of furniture pieces to become architectural itself.

By using the same light fixture throughout the space allows for visual interest while keeping the design simple. The fixture is actually an outdoor fixture but is incredibly sophisticated in this interior!
