Muy Caliente

Benjamin Moore just announced their color of the year, Caliente, which is described as  “strong, radiant and full of energy”. It’s a gorgeous color, but I’m not sold on using it to paint an entire room. I love the richness of the hue and would love to use it as an accent like painting a door in the photo below. Benjamin Moore explains the color brings “depth and energy to a space and spiking deep grays with life”. It feels like everything is gray these days, so it’s refreshing to see bolder colors making their way back.
What do you think? Love it or leave it?

the blue house

Since we’re waiting for the floors to dry, we’re spending some time on the exterior to give it a bit more curb appeal. The front of the house gets amazing sunlight the majority of the day, but there was a small section of the wood shingles that had peeling paint from age. After taping a drop clothe to the foundation to protect the soil below, we scraped the chipping paint, and then repainted this section.

Ever since we started working on the house, the neighbors have slowly started their own projects and Ryan thinks we’re inspiring them. I’m excited to see how much inspiration I give them tomorrow afternoon when I completely landscape the front garden.

the most unique paint

I have been fortunate to be able to work with Yves Tessier while working on projects in New York. He is a true artist that paints unique finishes with hints of metal or Casien, the ancient byzantine method of painting. Drink these beautiful images in!

’tis the season

I hope you all had a lovely holiday weekend! I’m still recovering from Thanksgiving and all the delicious food shared with family. I think I’ll have to wear leggings for the next few days until I can fit back into my non-spandex jeans!

I can’t believe it’s time for Christmas and all the fun decorations that come this time of year. I love this understated table setting with simple candles and antlers. I also need to paint a room this color, it is so beautiful!

Are holiday table settings practical or just something in movies and magazines?
