country day trip

So yesterdays hunt for fall foliage was a bust because we were a week too late. We still had a great time driving to the country to grab a burger and beer from our favorite brewery, and going antiquing at Peddler’s Villiage.

Check out these furniture pieces we found! This place has amazing vintage furniture, jewelry, and styling accessories that you can find at NYC’s flea markets but for half the price. Every time we go to this place there are new things that make us nostalgic for times past…

Solid wood secretary desk – $795

Vintage card catalog – $1295

Expandable utility table – originally $54!!! We bought this table for $45 and have yet to find a place to put it. We’ll end up storing it until we buy a house, but we couldn’t pass up a well made solid wood table at that price!

Today I’m off to the Poconos with Ryan for a little hiking and a little brewery action. Being unemployed has some perks. :) We go every year around this time to look at the leaves and enjoy our favorite time of year. I took these shots last year, and I’m hoping we can find some more amazing colors!

No color retouching here!

The anticipation is killing me! I can’t wait until tonight!

Ryan and I recently took a trip to the Poconos in PA to enjoy the fall weather. Both of us have fond childhood memories of going there with our family, so we made our own traditions when we go: antique shopping, hiking on Mt. Pocono, and eating. We enjoyed yummy homestyle food, and our favorite Octoberfest beer from a local brewery!

This time we even took a trip to get lunch in Scranton, PA to check out the town that inspired The Office. I admit, it’s kind of nerdy, but it was fun to walk around in a quaint country town. Notice this building from the office opening?
